Sebring LMP2 roundup

Promise unfulfilled; This is the story of P2 yet again at Sebring, a P2 car could have finished as high as third, Jon Field showed that pace in his new Lola B50/40/AER. There were four potentially excellent cars in the field with the second Intersport car expected to be the steady tortoise. Instead it was just the tortoise with a week the team will hope to forget very soon.

The Binnie Lola B50/40/NME was just too new and problems with the unique engine installation of this car hampered them all week but the Lola B50/40/ chassis has shown great potential so we should see them nearer the front in Spa. The Intersport Lola B50/40/AER had engine problems and Jon might be wondering if he was wise to go back to the AER.

The Miracle Courage had Alternator problems early in the race and lost the lead to the Kruse Courage. The Kruse car particularly in the hands of Harold Primat impressed until the Judd engine failed late in the race. This left the repaired Miracle Courage to take the class, a first Class win in the ALMS for Kumho tyres.

Sebring is a rough long race for such new machinery, we may yet see a new dawn at Spa and later rounds in the ALMS.
