Ruberti signs to drive the GNM Saleen in Spa 1000kms classic

Talented Italian driver Paolo Ruberti has today agreed a deal with GNM to drive a Saleen at the Spa 1000kms in Belgium, on 15-17 April.

Spa marks the opening round of the Le Mans Endurance Series (LMES), and GNM are entering 2 Saleen S7-R’s with the support of Pirelli Tyres at each round of the Championship.

Delighted with the deal Ruberti commented “I am very pleased to be able to support GNM, not only in the FIA GT but also now the LMES, and I hope Le Mans too. My agency and sponsors are very happy for me to increase my programme with them”.

The 29 year old Legnago (Italy) based driver continued “I believe there is a lot to be gained from driving the Saleen this year. The LMES is going to be a tough challenge and the class of car is really high like the team saw in Sebring, but I am confident we can fight and show that we are competitive with all the other teams in the series”.

“The one thing is that GNM is a small but very hard working team, and nothing is left to chance when it comes to the car preparation. One thing I want to do is help to show our ability and I am very pleased to do that”.

Equally happy with the deal, Graham Nash added “Having Paolo in the LMES is a tremendous boost to the team. He will be able to show that we can run a fest competetive car in both the FIA and LMES series. He will share with Nigel Smith and one other driver.

Paolo, Nigel and other GNM new signing Joel Camathias will test at Circuit Paul Ricard (Le Castellet) next weekend in readiness for the FIA and LMES series openers.

Graham Nash added “We still have one seat to confirm. It is likely Gian Maria Gabbiani will drive either in this car or the second car with Rick Sutherland. I am looking for a quick good driver with budget to share what will be a fcront running GT1 car with 2 very accomplished drivers as team mates”.
