24 Hours of Le Mans

ACO publishes the first sixteen official entries

Teams wishing to race in the 2005 Le Mans 24 Hours (start Saturday 17th June at 17h00) have until 18th January midnight to send in their entry forms to the A.S.A-A.C.O “24 Heures du Mans.” For teams that have an automatic entry but which were obliged to confirm their participation in the 2006 Le Mans 24 Hours in their respective categories, the deadline expired on Monday 9th January at midnight.

With a few hours to go to the overall deadline the organisers are pleased to announce that sixteen out of the 24 entries have been confirmed.

The following ones have been liberated as they were not received within the deadlines and concern the teams mentioned hereafter:

Champion Racing (the outgoing winner of the ¢24 Heures du Mans+ - Audi R8 - with no confirmation for the two places available), White Lightning (one out of two possible entries in LM GT2), RML (one out of two possible entries in LM P2), Alex Job Racing (no confirmation for the two entries available), Dyson Racing and Chamberlain Racing (no confirmation for one entry available). However, it is important to point out that a team that does not confirm its entry for the category in which it qualified, is allowed to send in another entry in another category before midnight on 18th January. This, like all those from other teams not having an automatic entry, will be submitted to the approval of the Selection Committee.

The Selection Committee of the 74th ¢24 Heures du Mans+ will publish its first provisional list at the end of February, which will be completed after the Sebring 12-Hour race on 18th March, the opening round of the American Le Mans Series. A maximum number of 50 cars will be allowed to start the 74th 24 Heures du
Mans.
