Lister LMP completes pre-season testing

© Planetlemans - Sander van Dijk

Following a problem-free test at Estoril two weeks ago, the team proceeded to Paul Ricard for the official Le Mans Series test. Unfortunately, the car which left Estoril without problems was immediately in problems as soon as it went on track at Paul Ricard this Sunday. Firstly an immediate misfire, there was no apparent fault with the engine so maybe this was electrical? Nothing would solve it so we changed the engine – which had already completed around 30 hours running time and was due to be changed before the Istanbul race in two weeks time.
Upon starting the engine on Monday morning a few more electrical ‘gremlins’ occurred but these were sorted and Jens Moller completed 20 laps, improving the set-up, before handing over to Andrea Belicchi. Unfortunately, on his second lap, Andrea had contact with the Pescarolo causing damage to the side, floor and driveshaft of the Lister – the car was loaded on to the truck to continue its’ journey to Istanbul where it will be repaired.
