American Le Mans Series

Miracle to Focus on Endurance Events

Miracle Motorsports team owner John Macaluso has decided to focus on the remaining endurance races in the American Le Mans Series, specifically the 24 Hours of Le Mans and the 10-hour Petit Le Mans. KUMHO will continue to supply tires to Miracle for these races.
“I really enjoy the endurance races,” said Macaluso, whose team won its class at the 2004 and 2005 Mobil 1 Twelve Hours of Sebring. “Getting to Le Mans was a lifelong goal for me, and we finally made it in 2005. We ran well but didn’t finish the race, so we feel like we’ve got some unfinished business there.
“We believe we’ve got a good chance of winning the LMP2 class at Le Mans if we focus only on that race,” said Macaluso. “After Le Mans we will focus on the last major endurance race of the year, the Petit Le Mans.”

KUMHO motorsports manager Rudy Consolacion said that the company is looking forward to returning to Le Mans with Miracle Motorsports. “We understand Miracle’s desire to focus on Le Mans because it is the pinnacle event of sportscar racing,” said Consolacion. “We’re glad to return to Le Mans with Miracle, and KUMHO will continue to focus on the entire American Le Mans Series.”
KUMHO was pleased with its on-track and off-track results last year in the company’s first season of ALMS competition, according to Consolacion. “We scored some impressive wins with Miracle, including a class win in the Twelve Hours of Sebring,” he said. “The KUMHO brand received great exposure at the races and on the television broadcasts. Our dealers like our involvement with the series, so this year we’ve increased our marketing involvement with the series so that KUMHO will get even more exposure.”
Consolacion added that KUMHO will expand its ALMS involvement and will announce an additional race partner in time to contest the Lone Star Grand Prix in Houston on May 12 and the rest of the ALMS schedule.
