Further to the termination of Frank Diefenbacher’s contract, Austrian team Race Alliance has announced that it will be pinning its hopes solely on Karl Wendlinger and Philipp Peter in Brno, who will drive the nr 33 Aston Martin DBR9. The nr 32 car will not drive in Brno. "On one hand we need to wait until the cancellation of the contract becomes valid; on the other, it has not been possible to find an equivalent subsitute in this short period of time," team co-owner Lukas Lichtner-Hoyer explained. "We will try our best to find a suitable driver for the next races. I am really sorry for Robert Lechner in the current situation."
Robert will remain an integral part of the team and will be employed in testing in the time being. There will still be two Race Alliance cars on the grid, with the drivers of the nr 99 Porsche 996 GT3 RSR hoping to score their first points after finishing 9th in GT2 in Silverstone.
