First FIA GT pole for Jarek Janis

For the first time since 2004, a Saleen S7-R will start from pole position in the FIA GT Championship, after Jarek Janis placed the nr 9 Zakspeed car at the front during the 20-minute free practice session. With a lap of 1:55.660, he finished ahead of Jamie Davies in the nr 2 Vitaphone Racing Team Maserati MC 12 and the nr 5 Phoenix Racing Aston Martin DBR9, making three different makes in the top three for the second race in a row.
The nr 4 GLPK Carsport Corvette C6 was fourth, ahead of the Silverstone winner, the nr 1 Maserati MC 12, which is the heaviest car in the field.
