Creation: Best of the rest in Wednesday Qualifying

© Planetlemans

Creation Autosportif rounded out Wednesday‘s Qualifying sessions in a comfortable 5th in overall classification. The small British team were very pleased with the outcome. “Jamie (Campbell-Walter) did the job we expected of him and set car’s quickest time” commented Creation’s Commercial Manager Andy Woolgar. “He has proved to others what we already knew. He is a direct like-for-like replacement for Nic Minassian. We found a very good setup early on in the first session and kept to the plan we had set out beforehand. Both Beppe (Gabbiani) and Felipe (Ortiz) achieved excellent times and proved very competent in the wet conditions”.
Heading up the Creation design project team, Kieron Salter of KW Motorsport added “To be competitive in the wet conditions with the hybrid aerodynamic developments at this early life of the car is very encouraging particularly if there’s any wet weather conditions during the race. The Pescarolo has a significant advantage over us having had a year’s development already so to be this close to them with our car which turned a wheel for the first time in March of 2006 is accredit to the team’s preparation and professionalism”.

He continued “With regard to the the rest of the weekend we are looking forward to some drier weather for the remainder of qualifying, and hope to maintain our current position within the field. We are aiming for a steady, consistent race pace”
