Creation Running Strong Overnight

As night fell and temperatures cooled, Jamie Campbell-Walter took the wheel of the Judd-powered Creation CA06/H for the first triple stint of Creation’s race. He set some of his fastest lap times so far, the best being a 3:38.123 at 0120 hrs, making good headway up the overall classification, just before handing the car over to Beppe Gabbiani.

Jamie said afterwards, “It’s good, the car is running really well. We were able to put some quick laps in but are still playing catch up. We keep having little problems which are delaying us. We’re coming up to the half way mark so can’t afford to have any more problems if we want to finish in the top five which is what we were aiming for.”

Both the Italian and his Swiss team mate Felipe Ortiz completed their night-time stints, putting in steady and consistent laps although both suffered a spin due to a long brake pedal. The Briton took the wheel again just before the 12-hour mark, but suffered yet another setback in the form of a malfunctioning starter motor. The car was once again brought into the garage and the part was replaced.

As dawn breaks, everyone on the team hopes that there will be no further delays to prevent a fight back through the field.
