Le Mans 12 Noon Update

With just under five hours remaining in the 2006 24 Hours of Le Mans, the #8 Audi R10 held a four lap gap over the #17 Pescarolo Sport and a 12 lap gap over their teammates in the #7 Audi. While the #8 Audi continues to press (and turn laps in the 3:36 range compared to 3:49 for the lead car) barring a DNF for the leading two cars it is unlikely Kristensen will score his eighth straight Le Mans win.
The #16 Pescarolo was in fourth place in LMP1 and 28 laps down from the lead.

LMP2 finds RML holding an 11 lap gap over Miracle Motorsports. RML continues to turn laps in the 3:55 range. Third place was held by Binnie Motorsports (another six laps removed from the lead). Intersport Racing was fourth in class but 30 laps down of the class leader.

GT1 is lead by Aston Martin Racing with the #009 car running fourth overall and one lap ahead of the #64 Corvette. The Corvette is being driven by Olivier Beretta and is turning laps in the 3:55 range. The 007 Aston Martin is another five laps down of the leader, followed by the C-5R of Alphand Adventures in fourth place. The #63 Corvette is in fifth place.

GT2 continues to be held by Seikel Motorsports, with the LNT Panoz running seven laps down. Scuderia Ecosse is in third and 18 laps down.
