Alex Job Looking to Rebound from DNF

Alex Job Racing heads to Lime Rock Park for round four of the American Le Mans Series. Mike Rockenfeller and Klaus Graf will be looking to bounce back from a tough Mid-Ohio weekend this Saturday.

At Mid-Ohio a transmission linkage problem which appeared during the pace laps precluded the team from running the race.
The Alex Job crew has not missed a race in more than nine years that they have entered. A motivating factor for the upcoming race at Lime Rock. The team will be looking for their second victory on the season, the first coming at Houston in May.

Mike Rockenfeller is looking forward to returning to Lime Rock. “The lap times are very close in all of the classes, because the track is so short. This is a good opportunity to separate driving talents, because there are tenths to be made up on a short course. Lime Rock is tricky and very difficult to overtake. You have to have good mechanical grip in the first part of the track and good aero balance for the last two turns, especially the down hill corner. The GT2 class has the best competition in the field with the most cars. We need to put together another win.”
Klaus Graf will visit Lime Rock for the first time. “The good thing is Lime Rock is a fairly short track. You don’t have to do a lot of laps in practice to find your way around, so there should be enough time to get familiar with the circuit. Even with the track being short the layout looks pretty interesting. Obviously traffic will be much more of an issue. For us in the GT2 class it may play an important part of our strategy, because the overall leader can have a big affect on our race once a caution comes out. Running up front from the beginning should be more of an advantage at Lime Rock than on other race tracks. We had a set back at Mid-Ohio, but we were competitive in all the races this year and we just need a little bit more race luck. We still have a shot at winning this championship.”

“Mid-Ohio was disastrous,” said Alex Job. “We were able to win Lime Rock last year, so we know our way around the short circuit. The GT2 class has had a different winner every race and this helps keep the points chase a little unsettled. The team will be looking to bounce back and make a charge back to the front of the series points chase.”

Rockenfeller and Graf are currently sixth in drivers points, 26 out of the lead, with Alex Job Racing is in fourth in the team standings.
