Scuderia Ecosse: FIA GT Dijon Preview

© Planetlemans.com - Marcel ten Caat

Fresh from two British GT wins at Brands Hatch, and of course the recent 1-2 victory at Paul Ricard, Scuderia Ecosse heads to Dijon this week with high hopes of another good result.
The Dijon Prenois Circuit was the scene of some classic F1 battles during its glory days of the late 70s and early 80s. Since then the circuit has concentrated on sportscar racing and national French racing.

Chris Niarchos is back in the no. 63 Ferrari this weekend after missing the Paul Ricard round.

Chris Niarchos (#63): “I know Dijon as we tested there during the winter and I enjoy it a lot. I like the fast, flowing nature of the track and I think we can get a good result there. Tim and I have a lot of momentum now so we are both feeling very confident as we head into the weekend.

Tim Mullen (#63): “We tested at Dijon at the start of the year and I thought it was a good, fast circuit. There are some mega corners there but also very little run-off. I think our package will go well there and the Michelins will be especially strong. It will be good to have Chris back too!

Nathan Kinch (#62): “After the win at Paul Ricard, Andrew and I are keen to keep the momentum going so I’m looking forward to a great weekend of racing in Dijon. I think the circuit will suit us and there’s no reason why we can’t go out there and win again.

Andrew Kirkaldy (#62): “This is another circuit I haven’t been too so it’s the usual story for me: learn the circuit, then go for pole! I hear it’s a little hilly which can make carrying ballast a problem but we have the same weight as the AF Corse cars now so it’ll be a close-run thing!

Stewart Roden, Team Principal: “We need to put in another solid performance as the goal is the same: to keep taking points away from the leaders. We have a good chance of a top result here and we’ve had some good luck in France this year so let’s hope it holds out.
