Flying Lizard Motorsports No. 45 and No. 44 Porsches qualified 7th (Marc Lieb) and 8th (Lonnie Pechnik), respectively, for tomorrow’s Petit Le Mans endurance race at Road Atlanta. Marc Lieb will start the No. 45 for the 10-hour/1000 mile race, joined by Johannes van Overbeek and Wolf Henzler. Darren Law will start the No. 44, joined by teammates Lonnie Pechnik and Seth Neiman.
"The GT2 field is really tight heading into the race. In qualifying today, all 10 GT2 cars’ fastest times were within about one second of each other. We would have liked to be starting higher on the grid, but it’s a long race and anything can, and usually does happen," said Flying Lizard crew chief Tommy Sadler. "We are focused 100% on the race. To keep our championship lead we need to finish as high as possible which means having a fast car that can go the distance. We have our race engines and transmissions already in and we’ll spend the rest of today finalizing our prep for tomorrow. We plan to use morning warmup to do a final systems and setup check on both cars."
