LNT Automotive, Panoz European agents, has agreed the supply of two new Panoz Esperante GT2 cars to Chad Racing.
Chad Racing based in Canvey Island, Essex, have previously run both Porsche and TVR’s in multiple GT championships, but will take delivery of the Panoz Esperante’s in early 2007 with a view to entering the Le Mans Series in 2007 as Chad Peninsula Panoz. The cars will be identical in build to the Le Mans winning GT2 car and will continue the Panoz expansion into Europe from the USA.
Iain Dockerill of Chad Racing: “We have been watching the Panoz this year, winning the last two rounds of the LMS and following their progress closely, we have been really impressed with the reliability and pace. It will be a challenge for the team having raced the TVR for such a long time but this is a serious effort for 2007 and we expect to be competitive from the outset.” Dockerill was unable to comment on the driver line up for its 2007 LMS campaign but it is expected to be confirmed shortly.
LNT Automotive can also confirm the sale of further Panoz GT2 cars for the 2007 season. Further details will be released soon. Managing Director of LNT Automotive Richard Dean: “Sales are good, interest is strong. We also have a support and engineering service in place as a back up for our customers so they have a point-of-contact here in Europe.
“We are excited at the prospect of having additional teams racing the Panoz and helping to develop the product. We have had lots of positive feedback on the addition of a new marque onto the European GT scene to mix things up a bit! The car is what I would call a great customer car; what you get as a customer is what we ran at Le Mans and all season in the LMS. Privateer teams can take this car and be competitive, just like we did at the start of theseason.”
