Racing for Holland today announced their plans and drivers for the upcoming season. With Jan Lammers being joined by A1GP and former Spyker factory driver Jeroen Bleekemolen and experienced sportscar driver David Hart the three drivers are all Dutch. The Dutch team will take part in the Le Mans Series and of course the Le Mans 24 Hours, to be held on the Circuit de la Sarthe on June 16th and 17th.
Racing for Holland will enter the new Dome S101.5 factory car in the LMP1 class at Le Mans and in the Le Mans Series. The car will run on Michelin tyres and will be powered by the latest spec Judd GV5 S2 V10 engine, which has over 650bhp.
The driver line-up for the upcoming season is a mixture of experience and (young) talent, with three drivers that did participate at Le Mans at least once and drove in several prestigious racing series.
David Hart (49) has a wealthy experience in GT racing, with several podium finishes and victories in the FIA GT and Belcar championships. In 2004 and 2005 Hart won the Belcar title in a Viper alongside Mike Hezemans. Hart drove at Le Mans in 2000 and 2003. His latest experience in the Le Mans Series was 2005, when he finished fourth at the Nürburgring in the G-Force LMP2 Courage.
Jeroen Bleekemolen (25) is a known face at Racing for Holland. He is the Dutch A1GP driver and scored a victory, a pole position and several top five finishes. Despite being a youngster Bleekemolen has a huge experience in GT racing. He is the youngest FIA GT race winner, drove in the DTM and did the Le Mans Series, the FIA GT and Le Mans for the Spyker factory team.
As usual the team is lead by former F1 driver and Le Mans winner Jan Lammers. In 2001 Lammers started Racing for Holland, making a big impression by qualifying in fourth place in between the Audi and Bentley cars. In 2002 and 2003 the team entered the FIA Sports Car Championship and won the title.
Racing for Holland will start the season on March 25 and 26 at Paul Ricard during the official Le Mans Series test. Between that test and the opening round of the Le Mans Series at Monza the team will carry out some more private tests.
