ACO release complete 2007 Le Mans entry list

The ACO today announced the names of the 55 teams that are invited to participate in the Le Mans 24 Hours of 2007. A total of 76 entry forms were sent in so the selection committee of the ACO had to dissappoint 21 teams.

“The choice is never easy and this year all the entry forms we received were perfect,” underlined Daniel Poissenot, the ACO’s sporting director. “This allowed the committee to concentrate on the main criteria laid down in the regulations concerning choice: in particular, the entry of the teams for the 2007 Le Mans Series and of course the quality of their results during the previous season in the different Le Mans Series.”
It was also announced that due to French elections the start of the race has been brought forward to 15:00 local time. There are plans to keep this start time in the future to improve media coverage and making it easier for spectators to travel to and from Le Mans.
