2006 Team LNT driver Rob Bell will return to the Leeds-based Team in 2007 as part of the driver line-up for the June 24hour Le Mans race. Bell has a long relationship with LNT through its managing director Richard Dean having moved from Karts to cars with Dean’s Team JLR. The Newcastle-born driver then took a starring role in the LNT Panoz in 2006 winning the last two rounds of the championship alongside Warren Hughes.
Team LNT are delighted to announce 27-year-old Bell in the #82 car for Le Sarthe to accompany Lawrence Tomlinson and Richard Dean. This completes the driver line up for both the team’s entries in the 24 hour race.
"We would have loved to have had Rob with us for the whole season in the LMS but it wasn’t to be so we are delighted to have him back with the LNT family for Le Mans" said Team LNT Managing Director Dean. "Rob has always wanted to race there and his current team Virgo don’t have an entry so we’re happy to be able to give him this opportunity."
Following the Valencia LMS race, Bell will test in the 2007 Panoz Esperante with Team LNT leading up to the most famous and prestigious race in the world. Team LNT emerged as GT2 class winners in 2006 and are going out for an all-out attack with two cars in 2007.
