Zytek announce Robbie Kerr as third driver for Le Mans

British driver ace Robbie Kerr is preparing for the world’s most famous endurance race, the Le Mans 24 hour next month. Fresh from his race victory at Brands Hatch for A1GBR Team in the A1GP World Cup of Motorsport, Robbie will be driving the all new Barazi Epsilon entered, Lowe’s sponsored Zytek LMP2 07S-03, powered by a Zytek 3.4 litre V8 engine. Kerr will be part of a three driver line up, being joined by
experienced drivers Adrian Fernandez of Mexico and Haruki Kurosawa of Japan.
With a diverse career spanning the last decade, Robbie joins the Zytek Motorsport team with an array of valuable experience. The late 1990s saw Robbie achieve success in the British Formula First Championship, British Formula Renault Star Cup and British Formula Palmer Audi. Stepping up into the prestigious Formula 3 Championship in 2001 Robbie proved himself to be a quick learner and romped to the title with 11 wins. Repeating the F3 Championship win the following year, a limited season in the 2004 Formula Renault V6 Championship netted one win before Robbie tried his hand at sports car racing. Robbie soon adapted with ease to a change of discipline joining Zytek at the British round of the Le Mans Endurance Series in 2004 and placing the Zytek 04S on pole position. Robbie’s pedigree made him a natural choice to represent Great Britain in the A1GP World Cup of Motorsport. Building on his success in the inaugural season, he scored 2 wins, seven podium finishes in the second A1GP season, helping to steer the A1GBR Team to third in the Championship.

The Zytek Motorsport team are handling the Le Mans effort for the LMP2 entry, with the official Le Mans test day on Sunday 3rd June, followed by the prestigious 24 hourrace at Le Mans on 16th June.
