Team Modena return to Le Mans Series action this coming weekend (June 30th / July 1st) with a 1000km race at the Nurburgring Grand Prix circuit in Germany, and are aiming for a strong finish in the competitive race. Coming just two weeks after the testing Le Mans 24-Hour race, the Team Modena crew have worked hard to prepare their Aston Martin DBR9, fully repairing the accident damage incurred in the night at Le Mans and having the car ready for the challenge of this weekend.
"We are going to the Nurburgring to win," says Team Principal Graham Schultz. "The team are all fired up and have made a great job of rebuilding the car after the accident damage at Le Mans. Winning the Escra award for technical excellence at Le Mans has left the boys really pumped up and they want to show what we can do.

"We will have Antonio Garcia and Christian Fittipaldi in the car this weekend, so will have a strong pairing. Christian is flying over early to make sure he is fully prepared for the weekend - everyone is taking this race very seriously."

An incident in the night at Le Mans with a slow LMP car saw the Aston Martin return to the pits with heavy rear end damage, but a superb job by the pit crew saw it return to the track and continue to lap on the class pace. Although too much time had been lost for a strong LM GT1 class finish, the work of the team was rewarded when the ACO (organisers of the 24-hour race) awarded the team their prize for the best pit work and technical performance by a team over the event.

The six-race Le Mans Series is for cars complying to the same technical regulations as the Le Mans 24-Hours race, with races of 1000km duration making them true endurance events. The series visits classic European circuits such as Monza, the Nurburgring, Spa and Silverstone before finishing in Brazil in November at the Interlagos circuit.
