FIA GT Spa 24: Race Hour 5

With PK Carsport still leading the race we are already heading into the fifth hour of the race. Jetalliance Racing is second at 20:00 and the nr 11 Playteam Maserati is third. In the GT2 category the BMS Scuderia Italia Porsche 997 GT3 RSR is leading while the Signa Motorsport Dodge Viper is in the lead in the G3 category.
20:02- Pitstops are underwasy

20:03- Rain at turn 15!!!

20:07- Anthony Kumpen is in the box. Kurt Mollekens will start his stint now. More and more dark clouds coming over the circuit.

20:09- The Gravity Racing Mosler is reporting technical problems.

20:15- Pit stop for the nr 33 Jetalliance Racing Aston Martin DBR9. Wendlinger gets back in the car.

20:17- The nr 1 Vitaphone Maserati is in the box. Slicks are fitted to the car, but wets are nearby. Out on the track spectators are getting their umbrellas.

20:26- Despite the earlier comments about rain the track remains dry.

20:28- Mike Hezemans sets a 2:16.974. The fastest time set so far by the Carsport Holland Corvette.

20:31- Lamy sets a 2:17.331, the fastest time by the nr 1 this race. Yellow flags at turns 14 and 15.

20:33- The Corvette C6-R of Luc Alphand Aventures is in the box. Oliver Gavin is taking the car back out. Jos Menten is currently driving around in 38th place. The Lamborghini’s are not reliable (again…)

20:37- Rui Aguas in the nr 51 has taken the lead in GT2 again.

20:41- It looks Mike Hezemans has collected some debris or that something from the wheel well broke off. Lots of smoke coming from the left front tyre.

20:44- The problem is gone, but Karl Wendlinger has closed the gap to Hezemans and has overtaken him. Jetalliance is now second, Carsport Holland is third.

20:45- Hezemans is in the box. Fuel and tyres, no problem at the front.

20:50- Current standings: 1 PK Carsport – 2 Jetalliance Racing – 3 Scuderia Playteam Sarafree. The GT2 leader is the nr 51 AF Corse Motorola Ferrari 430 GT2.

20:55- Eric van de Poele in the Maserati MC12 has just set the fastest lap of the race. His laptime of 2:16.680 was just over a tenth of a second quicker than the previous fastest lap set by Anthony Kumpen

20:57- Another fastest lap by Van de Poele, 2:16.543 is the new fastest lap of the race.
