The final round of the FIA GT Championship on Zolder was won by the Jetalliance Racing Aston Martin of Karl Wendlinger and Ryan Sharp. Having started from pole position the duo maintained their lead and took the third victory of the season. Local team PK Carsport finished in second place while the Vitaphone Racing Team Maserati of Thomas Biagi and Michael Bartels ended up on the last podium step. This result was enough for Biagi to secure the 2007 FIA GT1 Drivers Championship.
As the first cars were shown the green flag it was the nr 51 AF Corse Ferrari 430 that spun in the last corner before the start line. As a result it would have to start from the back. During the first lap the number 2 Vitaphone Maserati went off track, but was able to rejoin the race. Only two laps later the number 16 JMB Racing Maserati did the exact same. Eight laps into the race the second placed Aston Martin of Jetalliance spun at the first corner. It fell back to ninth place as the leading Jetalliance car tried to increase it lead.
The number 23 BMS Aston Martin DBR9 and number 12 Playteam Maserati MC12 collided on lap 18. The MC12 suffered a broken right front suspension while the DBR9 suffered severe damage to the rear of the car. Both cars came into the pit where both cars were retired.
A few laps later the other Playteam Maserati went off on its own at turn 8. The Gigawave Aston Martin and Prospeed Porsche came into the pit on lap 27. The DBR9 retired with a gearbox problem, the Porsche returned after a lengthy repair on the cooling.
In lap 33 it was the PSI Corvette that went off in the gravel at turn 2. Local yellow was waved. The race was getting towards the halfway point as most of the teams had completed their first mandatory pit stop.
Ten laps later the two Corvettes of PK Carsport and Carsport Holland got into a serious fight. For over a lap the cars were nose to tail but Longin put his car next to that of Deletraz as the two turned into the chicane. The cars touched, Longin got ahead and Deletraz dropped back to fifth place, behind Bartels. The PSI Corvette retired with a gearbox problem.
With just over 45 minutes to go in the final race things seemed to settle. The second mandatory pit stops took place. After all the teams had completed their second and final stop of the day it was the Jetalliance Racing car of Karl Wendlinger that had a lead of over half a minute on Kumpen in the PK Carsport Corvette.
A few minutes before the end of the race the All-Inkl.com Racing Lamborghini came to a halt at the first turn. While Bouchut parked his car and walked back to his pit box the leaders completed their final laps and after 78 laps it was the Jetalliance Racing team that took the win.
In the GT2 category it was the AF Corse Ferrari of Müller/Vilander that took the win. The win meant the duo also secured the GT2 title. The Ebimotors Porsche 997 GT3 RSR took second place, its first podium finish of the season and the Advanced Engineering Ferrari ended the race in third place. The BMS Porsche and the second AF Corse Motorola Ferrari, both title contenders before the start of the race, finished in fourth and fifth place respectively.
