After a three month gap the Japan Le Mans Challenge got back in action today at the Okayama International Circuit for the final round of the season. Only ten cars are at the track this weekend, in what will be the last event run under the SERO banner.
During the qualifying it was the Team Mugen Courage that lapped the 3.703km long track in a time of 1:22.135. The Hitotsuyama Racing Zytek was four tenths behind the Courage. The non-ACO compliant GC-21 of AIM Sports will start tomorrow's race from third place on the grid, ahead of the MAX Racing RS.KK-LM.
Quickest in the GT1 category was the Hitotsuyama Racing Ferrari 550, although it only reached sixth place on the grid. One place ahead of the 550 is its little sister, the Team Kawamura Ferrari 430 GT, which was almost half a second quicker.
The race at Okayama will start at 11:00 a.m. local time and will be run over 1.000 kilometres.
