Lukas Lichtner-Hoyer asked - and everyone came! The team owner was able to welcome about 300 guests at Jetalliance Racing's end-of-season party in the Oeynhausen company buildings.
The reason to celebrate: A very successful sporting season which ended with a second place in the FIA GT Championship for this still very young team from Lower Austria. A success story that is to continue in 2008 . . .
And the line of congratulators was very prominent: Among them Frank Stronach, Walter Grubmüller, Castrol's managing director Gustav Trubatsch, Remus boss Angelika Kresch, the Austrian Aston Martin importers Richard and Heinrich Karner, Adriana Zartl, Andrea Fendrich and Prof. Dr. Harald Hertz who, in his function as president of the OSK (Austria's motor racing governing body), also awarded the 2007 Driver of the Year trophy to Karl Wendlinger. Apart from a certificate the former Formula 1 driver - who was elected as best FIA GT driver of 2007 by the renowned English magazine Autosport! - also received a picture by well-know airbrusher Knud Tiroch.
"The party was as great as the performance of the entire team has been. I wish to thank everyone from the bottom of my heart", Karl Wendlinger said, "Jetalliance Racing's appearance in public is simply ingenious."
Luki Lichtner-Hoyer too had every reason to be cheerful: Not only because of the new pair of skis signed and given to him by skiing ace Rainer Schönfelder, but also because the Hypo Group Alpe Adria will continue its partnership with the team throughout 2008 as well. This was announced to the assembled crowd by board member Stefan Duller.
But Lichtner-Hoyer won't have much time to ski because Jetalliance Racing will already be in action again on the second weekend in January: The team will enter a Porsche RSR for the 24 hours of Dubai. The drivers: Karl Wendlinger, Lukas Lichtner-Hoyer, Vitus Eckert and Klaus Engelhorn.
The FIA GT season will start at the end of April with the Silverstone race.
