Following the year 2007, fully focused on the development of a new LMP2 sport car, the Gerard Welter Team confirms its return on the track for 2008.

The Le Mans 24 hours and a full Le Mans Series are scheduled for the Thorigny men, who will continue a 30 years history with the mythical Le Mans race.

The main partner for the project is the Salini Group, located at Le Bourget near Paris, who has developed for over 40 years their skills in construction of industrial & commercial properties. Its owners Philippe & Stephane Salini explain their commitment: “We found at WR the same values as ours: team spirit, pride in their work and trustworthy. This new challenge will give us a strong identity with our customers and partners, in the world of “Endurance & Le Mans” that we can all dream about.’’

Gerald Welter does not hide his contentment and motivation: ‘’The team did a fantastic job over the new car and the
Salini group allowed us great opportunities where needed.’’

From a technical point of view, we can expect a subtle mix of real innovations and old tested solutions: the WR LMP 2008 will be powered by a Zytek 3,4 liters V8 engine equipped with a 6 speed Ricardo gearbox and a Zytek/EGS paddle shift.

A powerful and reliable package to fit the all new chassis and aero.

The car and its drivers, already selected, will be officially launched next January.
