Welcome to the renewed Planetlemans site. Over the course of the last few months you might have noticed that the old site was not always responsive or even available. After Le Mans last June the load generated on our server was a bit too high and our hosting provider decided that we had to move somewhere else.
And so we did, not knowing that the swift move was a recipe for disaster. After a selection procedure we thought we found a good provider in Germany but unfortunately not much of their promises were true and even more outages occurred. The word service is unfortunately not available in their vocabulary and we decided to move the site back to the US…
Whilst trying to do our utmost to keep the old site available and up-to-date we started to develop a new site with better mechanisms aboard to cope with the peak loads whilst reporting live from the big one or any of the FIA GT and Le Mans Series rounds. We have chosen to make some drastic changes to the looks of the site which, due to the larger font and the wider layout looks a bit more like a magazine now. We also decided to increase interactivity and allow our visitors, besides direct front page access to the excellent Ten-Tenths forum, to comment directly on the articles to further increase the value of our posts.
Many users are using our RSS feed in their browser or on their personalised Google start page. Today we have added another option that allows our visitors to subscribe to our posts by e-mail. Also check out the updated Entry List section. Like last year we will have an up to date entry list for *all* ALMS, LMS and FIA GT Championship rounds. These lists all include pictures of the car’s livery and updates are being processed as the news happens. See the overview of latest updates and available lists here. The calendar has also been re-polished with more detailed info and direct links to entry lists, results, our gallery and the organiser.
As our main priority was to have the new site live before the season starts of in Sebring and Paul Ricard, some exciting updates originally planned for launch date will be implemented over the course of the next few weeks.
Please accept our apologies for the availability of the site the last months and please update your bookmarks. Please let us know what you think of the new site by leaving your first comment here!
Thanks for all your support and encouraging messages!

A big compliment to the guys of planetlemans. The site looks really nice, and navigation is easy and intuitive. Keep up the good work!
Good luck !
Congratulations for your new website. It is clearly more intuitive, organized and “readable” than the previous one.
The use of the Wordpress platform was a very good idea, but the css stylesheet its still to much “standard” and clearly needs a bet customization. There is a lot to do in this item… a lot of space for improvements.
The header of the old version worked very nicely and this one is to damn narrower.
The contents…. well… the quality that the planetlemans.com team is known for…

Thanks all!
Yes - there is always room to further improve the site. The looks might make you think that it all looks a bit simple and that was exactly the goal of the new site: easy to read and ease of navigation.
@Hugo: The CSS is nearly 625 lines of code so enough customisation for me… We will however invest more time to further improve the site and add some more features on short term
wanna free help with the CSS?
Great work. Who did the design?
Super clean and dare I say it, usable! (not that the old wasn’t)
My only issue is that the overall aesthetic doesn’t speak racing to me anymore.
Either way expect some link backs from us!
