The Lavaggi LS1 – AER, built by the Monegasque team bearing the same name, will bring forward its first appearance in the “Le Mans Series”, participating in the first champion race, the “1000 KM of Catalunya” taking place the 4th, 5th and 6th of April.

Being informed that there is a place available at the Barcelona event, Scuderia Lavaggi made the immediate choice to advance the debut of the new chassis-AER-engine composition. The German Wolfgang Kaufmann, who has joined Giovanni Lavaggi already at Spa 2007, will be the co-pilot, while the team has not yet decided on a potential 3rd driver.

Giovanni Lavaggi:
I hope to find the time to do at least a shake down of the car before we arrive at Barcelona. In any case, our first appearance in the championship will help us to judge the performances of the new chassis-engine composition in the environment of competition. As always, the spirit of the driver counts more than the one of the designer/constructor: At the end, I want to race and I am keen to do it, although the very limited time left should make me think differently.
