Planetlemans talks to Gianmaria Bruni

Gianmaria Bruni has started 2008 with a series of wins on the Ferrari 430 GT. Both FIA-GT and LMS events have seen him already on top of the podium so the young Roman is feeling pretty positive and confident at this time. Planetlemans analyzes the Monza 1000km

Looking back it will probably be the race of the year. It had absolutely everything, including some not so nice aspects regarding three big accidents during the weekend, two of those in fact sending drivers to the hospital. The race itself was a cracker in all classes, two of the class results (including overall) being significantly affected by contact on the track and one being defined by the technical scrutineering after the race itself. Positive result for Kruse-Schiller at Monza

A 6th place in the LMP2 class and a 13th place in the overall LMS score was a first reward for the hard work done in the last 2 month by the only German privateer sports car team in the LMS. The 24 Hours of Le Mans will be in its 76th edition this year and two drivers from the Limburg will be at the start. Apart from Jos Verstappen, our man from Haelen, Jos Menten has also found a safe haven for this legendary endurance race. Once again the 27 years young Dutchman has opted for the Team Modena Aston Martin DBR9. Team Modena wins at Monza and announces LM24 drivers

Team Modena took victory in yesterday’s 1000km Le Mans Series race at Monza, Italy, Antonio Garcia and Tomas Enge pushing hard all race in an exciting LM GT1 class lead battle, to win by just 12-seconds. The team’s Aston Martin DBR9 was on the class pace all weekend, and claimed 15th overall in the 45-car LMS field, taking the team’s first podium finish of the 2008 season at one of motorsport’s most famous circuits after 152-laps of hard racing.[…]

SNORAS Spyker Squadron Monza Race report

In great conditions the two SNORAS Spyker Squadron cars appeared at the start this afternoon for the second round of the Le Mans Series. It was only three weeks ago that the Dutch team finished fifth in its first race ever with their new GT2 racer, the Spyker C8 Laviolette GT2R. Aston Martin announces Le Mans lineups

The Aston Martin Racing team, which will race in the iconic blue and orange colours of Gulf, has announced its driver line-up for the Le Mans 24 Hours in June. Following an historic GT1 class victory at the endurance classic last year, the 2008 line-up is once again an exciting blend of youth and experience, with four new drivers joining two members of the winning crew from last year. The evocative colour scheme, a departure from the traditional Aston Martin Racing Green, is also new for this year thanks to a partnership with Gulf Oil International[…]

Zytek Le Mans Series Monza 1000km report

For the second race running the Barazi-Epsilon team has been a denied a podium place following an accident. As at Barcelona, Michael Vergers was at the wheel when his Zytek 07S crashed at Monza’s famous Parabolica curve. At the time, having completed 116 laps of the 173-lap race, Michael was in a strong second place in the LMP2 class.[…]
