Probably many of our readers are already familiar with one of the top attractions at LMS weekends: CER (Classic Endurance Racing). A very attractive grid of over 35 cars (with peaks of 50 or more) are gathered every Friday and Saturday at the LMS weekends with practice, qualifying and a 1-hour race.
The cars allowed are up to 1979 and must have competed in endurance racing so the variety is pretty amazing: From Chevron, Lola or even Matra or Ferrari prototypes to De Tomaso Panteras, Ford Capris, BMW M1s and all of course together with a very wide variety of Porsches from all shapes, colors and models.
The race at Barcelona was won by Olivier Cazalieres with the Chevron B36 number 45 followed by number 31 (Lola of Pescaolo’s partner Jacques Nicolet) and Patrick Biehler/Marc de Siebenthal on a Porsche 935 (number 35, also winner of the GT class). Fastest lap went to class regular Jean Marc Luco on his Porsche 908/4.
Planetlemans will be covering the whole CER season, as appetizer some pictures from the Barcelona weekend.
