Round 1 of the 2008 FIA GT Championship got off to an eventful start at Silverstone today, as the Scuderia Ecosse team made the most of the damp and trying conditions in poor visibility.

The experienced driver pairing of Jamie Davies and Fabio Babini performed well against the odds throughout the two-hour race, ending the day in 10th place. Unfortunately, the team were unable to solve the engine management glitch that blighted running all weekend. However, there was much for the team to take encouragement from, as they look forward to Round 2 of the Championship at Monza next month.

Scuderia Ecosse team principal Stewart Roden said immediately after the race “The first race of every new season is always exciting but challenging. More importantly however, is that it provides the team with valuable information that will strengthen our position and improve the performance in the Championship, as the season rolls on to Monza”.
