It is a sunny afternoon here in Monza at the Autodromo Nazionale Monza where we are getting ready for the second race of the Le Mans Series season. Just like in Barcelona the front row will have two Peugeot 908s lined up next to each other. After having received a penalty from the organization for high cockpit temperatures in yesterday’s qualifying session car number 85 will have to start from the back of the field. Van Merksteijn on pole position in Monza

The team Van Merksteijn Motorsport by Equipe Verschuur continues its successful streak in the Le Mans Series. In qualifying for tomorrow’s second round of the season at Monza, ex-Formula 1 driver Jos Verstappen set a fastest lap time of 1.36.842 minutes at the 5.793 metres long circuit, putting the team’s Porsche RS Spyder on pole position in its class for the second time this season.[…]

Audi R10 TDI at Monza début on second row

The two Audi R10 TDI cars fielded by Audi Sport Team Joest will start to the 1000-kilometre race at Monza (Italy) from the second row on Sunday. Local hero Dindo Capello set the third-best time in Saturday’s qualifying. Team-mate Mike Rockenfeller was merely 137 thousandths of a second slower and captured fourth place on the grid.[…]

Epsilon Euskadi on 6th row for Monza 1000 km

This weekend, the Azkoitia team races in two championships on the Monza track. The second Le Mans Series race and the first two races of the 2008 World Series by Renault championship. In the Le Mans Series, the debutant ee1 LMP1 prototype of the Basque team has shown a consistent improvement from the Barcelona race last April 6th.
