The twilight of the English domination, the dawn of the Ferrari era…. The 1957-1961 period brought big changes at Le Mans as the mythical Italian constructor would build its international reputation, the same reputation that would trigger Mr. Ford to come to La Sarthe a few years later…
The third 2008 Le Mans Classic grid did not have however the presence of the big Ferraris, many of the entries were smaller GTS although the amazing DB3 Astons and the beautifully presented Ferrari 250GT Berlinettas were great to see on the track. Jaguar, Lotus, Austin Healey and of course the unmissable French DB mini-challengers completed an animated grid which had the tiny Saab 93 (see main gallery) taking the Index of performance against much bigger cars.
The overall classification after the 3 races can be found at the official site
