You must have been wondering where live reporting was in the last two hours…well, it was there. It does help though if updates are published instead of put in a draft document. Not so great news in the last hour for the number 6 Corvette, which caught fire and was pushed into the box.
12:03- The Corvette is fired up again, new bodyparts are put on and it is again in the pitlane now. Finally they get it running and it is back on track! Great news.
12:06- The gaps to the 3rd and 4th placed cars from the Maserati’s are now 5 and 15 laps!
12:08- Bartels and Ruberti (both class leaders) are both in the pit.
12:09- and both are safely back on track.
12:10- Richard Lietz performs a pit stop. The top 8 now consists of 4 GT1’s followed by 4 GT2’s.
12:12- Philip Peter is in the pit. He is 4 laps behind the leader. With less than 4 hours to go, GT2 could still lead to an exciting finish since the top 3 cars are still all within 3 laps.
12:15- The Corvette is in 9th position and it seems to be running fine for now.
12:18- Lietz sets his fastest lap, a 2:23.059.
12:21- Now Lietz even sets a faster lap, the fastest of the race in GT2. 2:22,596. hezemans is back in the pit again. And in the mean while, jakubowski performed a regular stop.
12:25- Another one lap and Enge will switch positions with Hezemans who is still in the pitlane.
12:26- And Enge is past Hezemans. And again Jakubowski is in the pit, only a few laps after he had his last stop.
12:30- Babini is in for a pit stop. And also is Jaime Melo, although Melo is soon back out while Babini seems to have problems.
12:31- The Corvette is still in the pit.
12:43- Del Monte and Aucott are in for a pitstop and the Corvette will probably stay in long to bring it back on track just before the end of the race.
12:47- Car 75 spun and rejoined at turn 14.
12:53- Thomas is in the pit.
13:00- Another 3 hours to go. Rusinov has a good pace and is now laps behind the 4th GT2 car.
13:03- Rusinov loses his wheel.
13:07- Rusinov is in the pitlane.
13:11- Shedden is in from 8th overall. Drops of rain at turn 1. maybe a wet track can shake things up a little.
13:14- Sarrazin performs a regular stop and is back on track
13:19- Stop and go for the 174 Sport Garage Ferrari.
13:37- Niarchos is in the pit. He is currently fourth in GT2.
13:38- and now Bruni is in…from third.
13:41- The rain is coming down again. Darren Turner is taking fuel and getting intermediates.
13:42- More cars in the pit for tires.
13:44- Both Maserati’s in…
13:45- There’s a significant drizzle now. Lots of water, but no big drops. Collard now also in…
13:47- Daoudi in the pit.
13:59- Nothing is happening besides the start of F1.
And news from F1… nothing is happening, keep watching FIA GT.
Great disappointment for all american car owners.
