Team Modena head into their busiest race weekend of the year with action on both the international and British stages - the Le Mans Series springs back to life with a 1000km race at the Nurburgring circuit in Germany, while the British GT Championship has its first two-hour race of the season at Silverstone.
The LMS event is the first race for the Team Modena Aston Martin DBR9 since June’s Le Mans 24-Hour race, and the regular driver line-up of Antonio Garcia and Tomas Enge rejoin the team for the event. Winners at Monza earlier in the season, the rapid and experienced duo will see the DBR9 once more taking on the quickest on the LM GT1 class opposition at the famous German circuit.
The team attended the Paul Ricard circuit in France for a test earlier this week before travelling across Europe to the Nurburgring, the DBR9 fully re-fettled after Le Mans. Team Manager Hans Muehlbauer will be overseeing the LMS campaign this weekend with Sporting Director Rik Bryan alongside, as the team utilises its full resources to compete competitively in two top-level championships on the same day.
“The car has been fully re-built after Le Mans and looks great,” said Graham. “The Paul Ricard test turned out to be a wash-out with standing water on the track, but we have a strong team in Germany and it will be a good race for us.”
A high-quality 49-car field take on the challenge of the six-hour, 1000km race, with three hours of Free Practice prior to a 20-minute qualifying session at 13.45 on Saturday afternoon. The race is scheduled to start at 12.05 (local time) on Sunday afternoon.
