The Spanish team participates this weekend in the 1.000 km of Nürburgring with two cars. The four drivers were very satisfied with the latst improvements. Angel Burgueño and Miguel Angel de Castro, ee1 LMP1 number 20 and Shinji Nakano and Adrián Vallés, number 21, completely agree in their comments: the changes implemented in suspension and aerodynamics turned the ee1 into a better car.

Team´s engineers and mechanics have been working hard to implement important changes on the ee1 LMP1 prototypes based on the huge experience collected in the last June Le Mans 24 hours and a recent aero mapping exercise. “The dynamic behaviour of the car is much more logical now and traction improved a lot” the drivers agreed; Miguel Angel added “ we´ve been just two second slower than our direct rivals but could have been closer”. Vallés commented that his flying lap could have been 0.7 seconds faster but was ruined by traffic.

The second session of today was faster. The couple Burgueño/de Castro lapped in 1.46.189 followed by Nakano/Vallés in 1.46.319 at an average speed of 174 km/h. Today´s testing, dominated by the two Peugeot and the two Audi was run in dry conditions and a mild 20ºC temperature. Weather forecast for tomorrow is uncertain due to summer storms.
