Porsche on top at Laguna Seca on test day

An LMP2 dominated test saw Penske emerge on top as the action started at the Laguna Seca circuit just outside Monterey in California. A two-hour session on the famous track ended with the #7 Porsche Spyder leading the pack in 1:11.248, courtesy of Timo Bernhard. Acura was close on second, the Andretti Green car in the hands of Tony Kanaan ending up in 1.11.724, The #5 penske car was 3rd in 1.12.054.

Audi #2 was the sole LMP1 in the top 10, Marco Werner managing 4th in 1.12.446. The second Audi was only 11th overall in 1.13.157. The LMP1 field was almost completely behind the LMP2 cars which shows quite some parity at this stage of the week.

Farnbacher Loles topped GT2 in 1:23.781, the top 3 was completed by the #45 Flying Lizard Porsche and the #62 Risi Ferrari. Practice starts today with 2 sessions followed by qualifying.
