The Selleslagh Racing Team Corvette C6.R was the quickest car in the warm-up session ahead of today’s ninth round of the FIA GT Championship at Zolder. In the session that kickstarted Sunday’s action the Belgian Corvette was almost half a second quicker than the nearest rival.
Second fastest in the GT1 class was the Jetalliance Racing Aston Martin DBR9. The Austrian team set a 1:27.519. Behind it was the #5 Phoenix Carsport Racing Corvette C6.R at less than a tenth of a second from the DBR9.
In GT2 the Advanced Engineering Pecom Racing Team Ferrari F430 GT2 set the fastest lap time, a first time in the FIA GT Championship. The car driven by Matias Russo and Luis Perez Companc was just over a tenth of a second quicker than the #50 AF Corse Ferrari and just over two tenths ahead of the Scuderia Ecosse Ferrari.
In G2 the Aston Martin Racing Vantage was quickest again, posting a time that would have put it in sixth place in the GT2 class.
