Michelin official tyre supplier of Dutch GT4

It was announced today that Michelin will be the exclusive tyre supplier of the Dutch GT4 Championship in 2009. After the tests with Pirelli and Michelin in early October the Dutch GT4 organisers studied the results and decided that Michelin was the best option for them.

Erik Weijers, Chief Operating Officer of Circuit Park Zandvoort and co-organiser of the Dutch GT4 Championship, is very happy with the deal: “Michelin has a great record in motorsport and stands for quality and reliability. At the GT4-tyre test on Circuit Park Zandvoort this became clear again. With Michelin as our (tyre) partner we look forward to the start of the first Dutch GT4 season with even more confidence.”

This cooperation strengthens the image of the French tyre manufacturer as technical partner”, explains Jean-Michel Vargas, Competition Client manager of Michelin. “Taking part in this sporting competition will once again allow us to confirm the performance of the commercial Michelin racing tyres and also shows Michelin’s passion of motorsport.”

The first race of the Dutch GT4 Championship will take place during the Easter Races on April 11-13, 2009. More details about teams, drivers and the calendar will be announced at a later date.
