No Aston
Interesting, looking at Team Falken Tire team. Thet must of switch from Frod to Porsche.
Fyi, Primetime Race Group has confirmed that they are racing in GT2 at the Endurance Info website, so add that to the list if you can. Please?
What happened to Drayson? This site reported on 9 Jan the announcement they will contest their Vantage GT2 at Sebring and Petit LeMans. Has that changed?
this lineup looks pitiful. Hopefully there are some more prototypes involved here.
You think this list is pitiful?!
This is the most optimistic list I’ve seen in months!
For example: VICI with 3 cars!? Come on, they said they were ‘planning’ that all last year and it never happened either. As far as I’m concerned, Lizards, Farnbacher and Rahal are the only certain entries in GT2 for the full season (even Risi has been eerily quiet). All the others will likely be 1-car or only make partial-season runs.
As for prototypes, I wouldn’t mind the small list if Audi was actually still here for the full season, but what can you do…
The fans can help by supporting the sponsors of the ALMS, IMSA, the teams, and drivers. Falken announced last year that they wanted to increase their presence in the ALMS. Black Swan Racing might continue with the Doran-built Ford GT.
@Dean and Josh: will be adding them later on.
@JackS: I am aware that they have had plans for more cars before, but even last week they confirmed there would be 3 cars, so for now I believe what they say.
GT1 looks like a 1 horse race… I thought Corvette had pulled out of racing ??
@Steve Fall: Corvette never pulled out. Around Mid-Season they’ll be switching from GT1 to GT2 with their #3 and #4 cars.
There really isn’t any competition in GT1 anymore so they’re going where this is competition. Should make for some intense GT2 races once they get everything sorted out.
Corvette is dropping their GT1 program after Le Mans. They are already concentrating on their GT2 entry.
This list is not 100% accurate. Audi are NOT competing in the ALMS this year, only Sebring, maybe Petit. Not sure where you got the impression they would be running the full season. AF Corse are only doing Sebring. I am also sharing my doubts on Vici due to what happened last year, and countless other teams who have announced one thing, but followed that up with another, or didn’t even race at all. I think this list would be better off with a title of “2009 Sebring 12 Hours Entries”.
Anyone have the test days schedule? I cannot snag it anywhere. I have an email out to Sebring as their PDF is not correct. http://www.sebringraceway.com/12hr_forms.lasso
The sebring test day ended yesterday….
looks like LMP2 isent going to be as exiting as last year though i am looking foward to waching the new zytek race i wached it race at road atlanta and it semmes pritty racy also the new dyson mazdas should put on a good show mabey even go for an overall win this year
and whats up with AF corse racing in american lemans i though they were and FIA GT team
and that guy who said that the list isent pidafull is full of it haha vice 3 cars wow…. they suck what was there best finish last year 7th GT2 is the only exting class in ALMS but not after chorvette starts to dominate it
Man. It says on the ALMS homepage there will be 2 Peugeot’s. Anyone know if that is true? Plus i heard the LNT is back with their Zytek and Creation Autosport with their two Creations
i dont know about the LNT and the creation but peugeots will be at sebring and mabey petit
ya. i would like to see the Creations and LNT, but Pescorolo would be a nice site and if JMB came back w/ the 430 i would be happy
when i was a the petit last year the creations were not that impresive they were really slow to accelerate and in stait line the LMP2 cars were out running them but on the other hand the LNT zytek was wicked fast and if it lasted the whole race could have given audi and peugeot a run but its said that what was black swan racing last year will bee team falkon tier and run a gt3 in the GT2 class and could also run a porche in LMP2
ya. i watched on TV but i think Creation was pretty competitive in the petrol class at Le MAns. i dont know but i agree they were slow at petit. i heard that about Black Swan and i really like their team but i dont know how much better they will do. they are not a super team like Farnbaker and Risi and Lizard, but they prolly might finish just behind those 3 teams. I am looking foward to those E92’s also.
yea iam friends with anthony lazzarow a driver of the black swan car and an ex ferrarie factory driver and he says the team just isent very organized like they dident even point the lights for the night portion of the petit so they had to take 20 minetes and fix that and simple mistakes like that but i think they should do much better this year with some experence
Ya. Do you know if he is driving because i really liked him. They did pretty well at Laguna i believe. they got like 7th or something. but they prolly will do better with the RSR than the Ford. But i am also a big BMW fan so i like those teams as well.
no i dont know if he is going to yet but he is driving all season in speed gt
anyone know why petron/acura switched classes?please advise….
They moved because Penski was leaving ALMS and there wouldn’t have been any good competition.
its going to be sorry if only 3 LMP2 cars race this year
I’ve just found about a Pescarolo might race via LMP1 with Mundill Racing. Rollcenter sold their Pescarolo to them.
were did u see that ?
From now on the Sebring and ALMS line ups will be available from the calendar and entry list pages.
This article will not be updated anymore.
There’s no Zytek from Corsa motorsport. They’re proving to be flaky as far as making regular appearances.
To Dan - Acura did NOT move up to P1 simply because Penske went to Grand-Am. That’s laughable. P1 was in the cards since the Acura LMP program was announced, and ironically there is more competition in P2 than P1 anyway this season with the withdrawal of Audi. With that being said, Sebring should provide for some great P1 competition with 2 Audis and 2 908’s battling the 2 LMP1 Acuras.
That sucks that there wont be a Zytek from Corsa. I was really looking foward to that. Plus you are right that Acura didn’t move simply because of Penski but it was one of the decision making processes of if they would have one or two P1’s. if there was more in P2 they prolly would have kept two in P2.
Does anyone know why AGR left ALMS?
AGR left beacause XM was going LMP1 and they were not going to run with no sponsore
I can’t believe Penske is giving up and not returning to defend the triumph. They pretty much suck at Rolex. On the other hand it doesn’t seem like Peugeot Sport is here to practice anymore, they should have brought in the 908HY.
Corvette couldn’t handle the pressure of dropping power to compete in GT2, we all know GT2’s corvette suck anyway like the LG Motorsport.
Once thing is certain we all going to have fun this year LMP1 look interesting.
Audi to me is like Jeff Gordon…soon the lucky charm will fade out.
I disagree. the only reason LG didn’t do well is because they are not like a super team like the Lizards and Risi. plus they got 6th in the rolex 24. that is pretty good for their first year.
I meant that Penski got 6th in the rolex. that is pretty good for their first time
I heard that penski is comming back to P1 with Porsche, maybe in 2010. That’s the reason why they are trainning their staff at other races.
im still looking forward to Gt2 and P1 but P2 looks really bad. i heard something about Barazi Epsilon but that was just a rumor.and well GT1…
yea LMP2 is looking pritty bad but LMP1 is looking better then it has in the last couple of years and with that new dome coming to race a select events
The what. The Dome racing is the one who was at Le Mans right? WOW. Thats cool. i would also like to see Pescorolo or that Aston-Lola. Hey, do you think Autocon will do any better with the Lola than they did with that creation?
yea i think they should do much better beacause the creasion was aim creation then intesport then autocon so yes i think they should do better but at the petit the car crashed in every session it was in so that wasent a very good first showing
and yes the dome that raced a lemans not factory tho its team ECOSpeed
I dont like really like Autocon but at the same time i hate to see a team like that struggle so much. And a strong running from the Acura’s would be good. i think.
yea autocon isent my favorite either but i wouldent mind to see them win a race or 2 this year or at least land on the podium o few time it would just make LMP1 that much better this year also i would like to see a LMP1 battle like we saw in LMP2 last year
also i heard that a team under the name JFR is going to race this year starting at miller most likely or in the next few seasons but it says that only if founding developes will they race they would be a two car team running two zytek it said in the press releas they were considering drivers such as Sascha Maassen Emmanuel Collard and Stéphane Ortelli
Then they are dreaming, they will never get those 3 drivers.
JFR had alrady confirmed those drivers to be there main ones joined by 2 other drivers anounced later on
Then they dreamed up the press release, Collard and Maassen wont be leaving Porsche anytime soon and neither will Ortelli be leaving Oreca anytime soon.
porsche released collard and massen after last season and ortelli is free to do what he wants in the american lemans series he is just stuck with oreca in the lemans series
Dont know where you got your info from but Porsche have not dropped Collard or Maassen.
yes i know they are both still porsche factory driver but for example collard drove for pescorolo so they could easyly race for this team but yes i agree with you that they are trying to juice up there press reales it sounds way to good to be true
does any 1 know if mika salo is going to race with rise again this year
Last i heard if he couldn’t secure a drive in stock cars he was retiring.
really so is there any word on who i driving with jamie melo in the rise car this year
So do you guys know about Corsa. That Corsa Team would be nice to see. I think they will be really competitive this year because of the experience they now have. They were competitive at Petit until the crash and also somewhat competitive at Monterrey. And does anybody know about LNT. I had head something about them back full time but i am not sure. And who is the JFR team.
Anyone heard anything else about Audi? If they dont come for the full season then i think it will be down the de Ferran and Patron and maybe Corsa and maybe even Intersport. What do you guys think.
i think so to iam really counting on intersport this year with there past experience in the class and i would also like to see corsa do well but you know acura will be there in some races
Ya the thing about ALMS this year is that all of the teams except Intersport and Creation if they return is that all the teams are basically knew and therefore you really dont know what they have in their bag. from their perfromance last year i think that Corsa wouldnt stand a chance vs. the Audi’s, but since they might not be back full time so they might actually have a chance for the championship of they run full time. But i think this is de Ferran or PAtron’s year.
yea i agree i think and acura will most likely win the championchip but intersport and corsa will both do there far share of winning
Is Tafel like done with ALMS?? They like almost won the championship last year and this year they are not entered. Who do you think will run for the Gt2 champ’s this year? I think it would be Farnbacker Loles, Risi, Lizard, and maybe even Rahal. And then tafel if they come back.
i think chorvette even with the 2 races they will miss will race with risi and the lizards for the win
ya i agree. But what about Tafel???? Has anyone heard anything??? Or about Audi??? I hate it when they leave these cliffhangers!!!
tafel pulled out and audi is sebring and the petit last i heard
ya I just didn’t know if Audi had said for sure if they were going to do that for sure. And i didn’t know Tafel pulled out. That was unexpected.
yea well the hard times hit every one but they could still race a limited schedule also there is mundill racing and ecospeed going to race this year limited schuedules mundill will race a pescarolo for all the final rounds and ecospeed will race a dome for not yet selected races.
yea. That is true. What will happen to Gt1 after the “big move”? I know there wont really be any teams in that at ALMS but is it still going to be around in LMS and at Le Mans in future years?
and also, does anyone know how many races Krohn Racing is in for? and how about like Autocon? are they in for the whole season?
ECOSpeed’s contract with Dome is over. Krohn is likely in for Sebring, the 24 Hours of Le Mans, Petit Le Mans, and Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca.
Autocon might miss St. Pete, but they will likely be at every other race.
Mundill Racing needs sponsorship for their LMP1 Pescarolo Judd.
ECOSpeed’s contract with Dome is over yes but they say they are going to take it back up before the first round of the LMS season also mundill already said they confurmed that that will race at least at the petit and laguna seca
Team ECOSpeed will take back their Dome S102? Where did they say that?
in the end of that article that was on this site
WOW. Thats cool. but like i said, what about Corsa? I dont know if they have released any other information. And where are you guys reading all this information?
What happend to Penske Porsche RS Spyder? And Audi R15 Is not going to race the rest of 2009 ALMS SEASON?
PLEASE I NEED SOME ANSWERS!!!
Penske went to Rolex and ya Audi is only at Sebring, Le Mans, Petit, and maybe Monterey
