In a period in which several teams and car manufacturers are struggling to keep their business running a new team from Switzerland has announced its intention to race in the Le Mans Series. Today Team ECOSpeed confirmed its plans to enter a Dome S102.
There isn’t a lot of information available at the moment regarding the team. Here is their press release:
Team ECOSpeed: a new challenger for Endurance Racing
Newly founded Team ECOSpeed, based in Lugano, Switzerland, is ready to challenge the established competitors in Le Mans Series, Asian Le Mans Series, selected events of American Le Mans Series, and, if the entry is accepted, the 24 Hours of Le Mans.
ECOSpeed will take back on tracks, the Dome S102, quickest independent car in 2008 Le Mans 24 Hours, both in qualifying and in race, thanks to an agreement with Dome Co. Ltd.
Team Principal Frank Van Nunen, has put together a first class Technical Team, headed by Chief Engineer Steve Nichols, and many other well known names in Sportscar Racing.
The driver line up, team composition, car livery etc. can be found soon at the teams website www.team-ecospeed.com , which is currently under construction, but will be online soon.
So nice to get to see the Dome again!, that car was to good to be sitting in an museum already!.
But what is better with this, is to see that the economic crisis, doesn’t hit Motorsport as hard as feared!
Will their new Dome S102 coupe have a Judd V-10? Michelin tires? LMS and Firestone Indy Lights are among the few series with great news for 2009.
does any one know who will bee driving the car
Accoring to Japan’s Sports-car racing.net, two of young Italian who have linked with the team are supposed to drive the coupe. And the web also mentioned that S102 will have Judd V10 and Michelin rubber.
Dome’s season-appearance is so nice. Dome will add spice to LMS and to be star of Asian Lemans Series. I hope we can really see them at Asian series on Nov.
does any one know what rounds the car will race in america
