Team ECOSpeed’s Dome S102 plan in trouble?

Only four days after new Swiss squad Team ECOSpeed announced its plans for the upcoming season with the Dome S102 the plans seem to have hit trouble. Last Thursday the team was not selected for the Le Mans 24 Hours and on Friday a message on the Dome website casted even more doubts on the future of the project.

The article on the Dome site, which can be found here, states that ECOSpeed has not yet paid the minimum payment required for the rental of the Dome S102. This as well as missing out on the Le Mans 24 Hours entry list and poor communication between the team and Dome has forced the Japanese manufacturer to cancel the contract.

Sources from Europe suggest that the ECOSpeed team is not a stillborn project yet, but confirm the team is facing difficulties. If ECOSpeed and Dome will get things sorted in the end and the car will shipped to Europe for racing it is highly likely to at least miss the first round of the Le Mans Series at Barcelona.

More details are expected to come in before the Paul Ricard HTTT test days next weekend.

  1. First Epsilon Euskadi has to delay the debut of the new ee2 LMP1 coupe until the 24 Hours of Le Mans and now this?

Why no entry for Dome at Le Mans?

  2. Dome has confirmed the cancellation of the contract with ECOSpeed, so that’s the end of that.
