Sebring 12 Hours – Warm-Up Report

McNish during the Sebring warm-upAudi was fastest during Saturday morning’s warmup for the Sebring 12 Hours. Allan McNish was the fastest driver in the 25 minute long session, while Mike Rockenfeller was second fastest just over a second behind the Scotsman.

Third fastest was the #07 Peugeot 908 HDI FAP at almost a second and a half from the leading Audi. The second Peugeot suffered a hydraulic issue and did not run in the session.

In LMP2 it was the Lola Mazda #20 that topped the time sheets. The sister car #16 was second fastest in LMP2 with the Lowe’s Fernandez Racing Acura ARX-01b of Adrian Fernandez and Luis Diaz was third.

Corvette Racing’s #3 was the fastest in the GT1 category while in GT2 there was a Porsche 1-2. Pole sitter Farnbacher Loles Racing set the fastest lap in the warm-up session, with the Flying Lizard Motorsports #45 one second behind. Third fastest was the Panoz Team PTG Panoz Esperante GTLM.

VICI Racing did not take part, the team has confirmed it will not start at Sebring but hopes to be back at St. Pete.

    Usually it comes down to disagreements with contracts. Maybe drivers or sponsors or suppliers.

    I was surprised they were on Michelins. You need a healthy budget for that, and pro not pay drivers.

    Maybe their batch never came in. Just my speculations, don’t quote me on that.
