The Epsilon Euskadi-entered Epsilon Euskadi-Judd is the second withdrawal among the 55 cars invited to take part in the 2009 Le Mans 24 Hours, and will not be present at compulsory free practice on 10th June.
The Spanish team has also decided to withdraw its second LM P1 car that appeared in fifth place on the reserve list.
In compliance with the ACO regulations, the place left vacant by the Epsilon Euskadi-Judd goes to the first car on the reserve list of entrants invited, no matter what the category, the Endurance China Team’s Porsche 911 GT3 RSR (LM GT2).
There are now 7 cars left on the reserve list. You are reminded that after 22nd May 2009 no more reserves can be brought in to replace withdrawals.
that’s terrible news – I hope that’s not the end for the team but I fear otherwise with this news.
If Chinese starts to get interests with Le Mans and ACO endurance formula, that will a big boost for Le Mans and all endurance racing. Japan has been a main part of 24 Hours of Le Mans for so many years with most major car manufacturers trying to win Le Mans again and again. If Chinese is going to Le Mans, there will also be a lot of interests from car manufacturers to show off their capacity in the event. Franky Cheng was in 2008 24 Hours of Le Mans in Car #35 LMP2 and was the first Chinese finish the event and surprisingly placed on podium. See how much interest ACO has put on 2009 Asian Le Mans Series even with only 2 rounds.
I was looking forward to the debut of the new Epsilon Euskadi ee2 Judd coupe. I hope that GT2 team will be good.
5 dropouts to Go and we have the Larbre Saleen in GT1,
so maybe we can hope for competition in GT1.
Fingers crossed for some F430, R10 and pescarollo withdrawals. (2 Ferrari’s should be maintained).

I fear the Porsche will not be of a great standard; but with all due respect to Epsilon Euskadi, nor were they of the highest standard.
They had just started in 2008. They aren’t just another team. They have a race team, construction, R & D, and a school. Now only Sebah will have the other privateer LMP1 coupe for Le Mans.
and Pesca will have a 908
Let’s face it, Euskadi got two entries last year and they got their doors blown off by most of the LMP1s and LMP2s.
Since they got started so late on the ee2, if they’d have run Le Mans again this year…I doubt they would have improved a whole lot anyway.
will porsche ever win the overall at Lemans again??
Porsche might win if they go in P1. Hopefully 2011 when P1 engines will be 3.4 liters. Then they can use the RS Spyder DFI engine.
I hope Seth Neiman will forgo his seat in the Flying Lizard car and leave it for Darren Law so Porsche has another bullet to win GT2. A lineup of Law, Bergmeister and Overbeck is fast enough to win.
Last year he took out his car and the IMSA car when they were running 1 and 2.
But Porsche has chosen to invest heavily in the US market (long live the Cayenne) and I guess the ACO are just letting them know how they feel by taking in all those ferraris at LeMans. FIA GT teams are not pleased with Porsche either.
It was Pat Long that took Neiman out trying to go down the inside at Indionapolis not Seth’s fault at all, Pat admitted it was his fault.
