Patrick Dempsey and Giorgio Mondini are the latest two drivers to join the Le Mans Series in the next couple of weeks. While Dempsey will be testing at the Bugatti circuit in a Ferrari F430, Mondini will race the Audi R10 TDI at Spa-Francorchamps.
Patrick Dempsey, who is known for his role as Dr. Derek Shepherd (or McDreamy) in the American medical drama series Grey’s Anatomy, will be taking part in the official Le Mans Series test days at the Le Mans Bugatti circuit in the Team Seattle-Advanced Engineering Ferrari. The American will also race this car in the Le Mans 24 Hours in June.
Two weeks later, at the 1000KM of Spa-Francorchamps, Giorgio Mondini will join Christijan Albers and Christian Bakkerud int he #15 Audi R10 TDI. The Swiss driver will replace Narain Karthikeyan. After missing out on Barcelona, officially due to injury, the Indian driver will again not race the Audi R10. Mondini and team owner Colin Kolles know each other from the 2006 season when Mondini was the Midland F1 Racing test driver in nine of the 18 races and Kolles was the team principal at MF1 Racing.
