You guys are stupid. This is ASIAN Le Mans. Is it not right to have a racing series in your region/country? Look at Nascar who hosts in America or Speedcar which only races in the middle east/asia. This is NOT FORMULA 1 WORLD Championship...

There is already a Le Mans Series.

Le Mans has a heritage of great racing throughout each class. Why cut the GT1 & GT2 from a series they've been involved in for how many years now?!?! Why do it now?? No one will watch LMP cars all 24 Heures. How boring, 2 classes & almost every car will look the same. Le Mans & Sports car racing in general will suffer much worse than the economy right now if this were to happen (LMP only).

Variety is stronger than a spec series.

Your right Bill, I'm located at a minute from the Shanghai Circuit, actually in the town of Jiading and the race track is not bad at all, but impressive. Too bad I’m only here for a couple of weeks. What's disappointed to me it the split race, it should only be one race. I think it will be great exposition for the sport and I believe Asian teams will start getting involved; it looks like this country is taking over. Le Mans should be all over the world.

Shanghai Circut is not bad at all. It is a little far from downtown Shanghai, I was there for 09 F1 GP in the rain. A lot fun. I will be there for Asian Le Mans Series. The beginning of a new series is not always easy. Remember 2001 European Le Mans Series (in associate with ALMS by Dr. Panoz), 3 GTS entries in most events, Saleen S7-Rs from Konrad and RML winning it all?..... and 2003 year end 1000km of Le Mans, Veloqx Audi UK and Veloqx Prodrive Ferrari 550 Maranello ?

I hope Le Mans go to Asia successfully. Asia is moving beyond Japan. Le Mans needs Asia viewers and teams and, of course, commercial sponsors who has interests in Asian market. Franky Chen was the first Chinese racing at 24 Hours of Le Mans in 2008, also first one on podium. All these are good for Le Mans. After years of Japanese manufacturers fighting for winning Le Mans, we shall hope other countries in Asia would catch up.

I agree with all to combine LMS, ALMS and the Asian Lemans Series into a Lemans World Series, and make the feild into LMP1 and LMP2 it would be awesome to see that Happen, and Gt they could race in the new Fia GT series that starts in 2010.

They could at least pick out a few good events from each series into a world championship. Teams could enter the regional championships (ALMS, LMS and uhh ALMS?) as well as compete in the world series consisting of perhaps: Sebring, Spa, Le Mans, Silverstone, Petit, Laguna Seca, Shanghai and a 12h finisher at Suzuka. The regionals would still run their full schedules, points earned at these races would also count towards the world championship.

Though as 24Lm is invitation only, it should probably be left out of the championship.

Then all you need to do is keep track of points, make some new stickers and fly a bunch of cars around the world.

Man, I'm brilliant!

AMR on one hand i agree w/ u, in trying to make it more like a Group C kind of thing, but with the current cars IMO it would be boring, too much like f1 with fenders

We desperately NEED Le Mans World Series. Unify European LMS and ALMS, kick out GT cars (nothing against them but I think they belong into FIA GT) and make grid full of LMP1s and LMP2s. And integrate 24H Le Mans directly into the championship. Glory days of World Sportscar Championship should be resurrected!
