Raymond Narac and Patrick Pilet (Porsche 997 RSR) took a resounding victory in today’s Pro-Am race of the Spa GT Open, giving IMSA Performance Matmut its first victory in the International GT Open, which is also the first victory of a French team in the series. Porsche took also the second place, with Richard Lietz – Gianluca Roda and Autorlando team, who are now the new leaders in the provisional standings. Starting at the Total 24 Hours of Spa next month the FIA GT Championship will have another GT1 Corvette C6.R in its races this season. Today it was confirmed that Sangari Team Brazil will join the GT1 class for the remainder of the 2009 championship.[...]
In 2008 the fight was on between Van Merksteijn Motorsport and Team Essex, both racing their Porsche RS Spyders. They had quite a nice fight, something that people hoped to see again in 2009.
