Stuart Moseley, (31, St Ives, Cambs, UK) is set to drive the legendary Le Mans 24 Hour race in the same Barazi-Epsilon Zytek 07s as last year. This will be the Loughborough born driver’s fourth consecutive Le Mans assault. 2008 saw the team finish fifth in the LMP2 class, equalling Stuart’s previous best result.

The team line up includes Juan Barazi, as last year, with French driver Roland Berville completing the line-up.

The main difference with the car this year is a switch from Michelin to Dunlop tyres but as Stuart drove the Barcelona round of the Le Mans Series in a Radical SR9 in April he has experience of the new tyre performance which gives him a head start. Stuart’s other drives this year include the Radical European Masters which he leads with his MSW Racing team-mate Derek Johnston.

Stuart Moseley

“I was hoping for a podium last year with it being my supposedly lucky third time but it wasn’t to be so that’s the aim for 2009. There are so many things that can happen in a 24 hour race so you’ve got to beat the race first before you can think about beating the competition. I think in our class the Porsches and the Lola Coupes are the main threats but in this race anything can happen.”

  2. I second that. Where’s Fernando Rees? He’s the reason I followed the team in the first place..

  3. No disrespect to Stuart, he is a very capable driver, but I will agree with the above comments in saying it’s a shame Fernando Rees hasn’t been able to race again. Unless he chose not to of course, but I find this extremely unlikely, it’s possibly sponsor related, I guess we let him say when he is ready the reasons why.

Good luck to the Barazi Epslion team for the 24 hours and remainder of the Le Mans Series season.

  4. I think him being a professional driver the team was in need of funds, so the rest of these guys are pay drivers.

Even the team’s very fast pace setter Michal Vergers is gone. I supposed they couldn’t pay him as well.

Ever since Karim Ojjeh left with his Tag Heuer sponsorship to start his own team the team hasn’t been the same.

They used to be a top team and the mantle carriers for Zytek engineering. Now Michelin won’t even sell them tires.

  5. Why I feel your comments are very valued, It is a shame Fernando Rees isnt driving this year, as Stuart thought he would be.

I think its important to state that Stuart Moseley is not a paying driver, he is a professional racing driver with experience from a wide and varied background. Michael Verges would be the first to praise Stuarts ability. This will be the 4th year at Le mans for Stuart and I think he deserves the drive as much as anyone else!

I wish him and the team all the luck this year, and I know that the support they recieve is appreciated.

  6. I don’t think we are saying Stuart doesn’t deserve the drive, it was just that it’s very unfortunate the team’s Le Mans Series driver Fernando couldn’t race.
