Everyone has been waiting for this moment but finally it is there…the official entrylist for the Total 24 Hours of Spa 2009 has been released!!!
This evening the SRO released the first official, provisional, entry list for the 61st edition of the Spa 24 Hours. At the moment 40 cars are on the list, most of them with full crews confirmed. A quick scan through the entry lists:
GT1 has ten entries. Three Corvettes C6.R (PK, SRT and Sangari) will be taking part. Luc Alphand Aventures will not be racing at Spa-Francorchamps, regular driver Xavier Maassen has been transferred to the Sangari Team Brazil C6.R.
The three expected Maserati MC12s are confirmed, as are two Saleens (1 for KplusK and 1 for Full Speed). Interesting to see at Full Speed is the return of the Van der Zwaan brothers to the Spa 24 Hours. The field is completed by the Nissan and the Ford GT.
In GT2 there will be 13 cars. As expected five Porsches will be racing in Belgium and they will be fighting eight Ferrari 430s. CRS Racing, BMS Scuderia Italia and AF Corse will all run two cars, Kaffer and Melo joining the AF Corse team, while JMB Racing and PeCom Racing will both enter one car.
Six cars are currently listed in the G2 class. Two Moslers (for G&A Racing and Gravity), the PMB Porsche Bi-turbo, the Audi R8 LMS for Phoenix Racing, a Porsche 997 GT3 Cup for Jetalliance and a TBA for PMB (the Ginetta). Interesting to see in G2 is that Marc Basseng will take the fourth seat at Phoenix and not Jean-François Hemroulle and of course the addition of the Jetalliance Porsche. Yesterday SpeedLover Racing Team announced its plans to enter a Porsche, they are not (yet) on the list.
And finally G3. Eleven GT3 cars are entered. 5x Porsche 997 GT3 Cup S, 2x Ford GT, 1x Ferrari F430, 2x BMW Alpina B6 and an Aston Martin DBRS9.
The entire list with drivers, cars and tyres can be found here -> http://www.planetlemans.com/fia-gt-2009-total-24-hours-of-spa-entry-list/
Thanks to Joost Custers who went to Brussels and supplied us with the provisional entry list!
IS ROLEX SERIES DRIVER MARK PATTERSON SERIOUSLY GOING TO BE AT THE SPA 24
thanks Marcel for this update, but what a JOKE at AF Corse, putting Perez Luis Companc with 3 factory drivers : Bruni/Vilander/Melo, when I was sure that Pierre Kaffer will be in the #50, now, clearly the CRS entry has the strongest lineup for the F430 GTCs
Shame, not a single DBR9. But where’s Hexis with the V8 GT2 or the DBRS9???
I went to Brussels, which is much further for me :), as I live near the track… A bottle of good wine will make it up Marcel
i agree with modbaraban, no jetalliance nor gigagwave R9s and a shame there’s no hexis gt2 either. Im also wondering why Drayson didn’t enter the race, good opportunity to improve the vantage’s reliability in a 24 hour race
The PMB Ginetta is not listed on the FIA GT website for some reason.
Noticed that today as well, but while checking the updated PDF dated July 15 it was back on with start number 115…
We’ll see what happens there.
Marcel, and Joost.
Many thanks for all your efforts on this one. I’ll get you a coffee next time I see you…
I have read, elsewhere, AF Corse have made a clever move re Companc? Some kind of performance break with an amateur in the crew?
Yes, but Daryl O Young has been reclassified so the 60 Prospeed will get that same weight break now.
