At the 1000 kilometer race at the Nürburgring the privateer team Kolles scored its best result to date in the Le Mans Series with fourth place overall.

After a faultless race Andy Meyrick, Narain Karthikeyan and Charles Zwolsman finished fourth in their Audi R10 TDI behind the three Aston Martin “factory” cars. After almost six hours of racing only 14.5 seconds separated them from a podium finish. The second Audi R10 TDI retired at the start of the second hour due to an accident when lapping a GT car.

  1. Aston Martin was 1 2 and 3 Kolles was fourth. In all that mix however the biggest surprises though was spyker Squadron finishing 2nd on the podium, and Pescarolo not finishing at all. Spyker’s rare podium needs to be acknowledged That’s their first I think.

Aston martin has now built up a huge lead on all title standings. Pescarolo really should have brought 2 cars.
