Bernoldi fastest in FIA GT practice at Paul Ricard

Enrique Bernoldi set the best time in the 80-minute free practice session for Sunday’s seventh and penultimate round of the FIA GT Championship, setting a lap of 2:03.306 near the start of the session. Driving the nr 8 Sangari Team Brazil Corvette Z06, he was 0.3 seconds ahead of the nr 1 Vitaphone Racing Team Maserati MC 12 of Bertolini and Bartels, with the nr 19 Corvette Z06 of Maassen and Biagi third. Championship contenders Pekaracing were seventh, carrying the maximum 100 kg in their car.

In GT2, BMS Scuderia Italia continued to show the progress in the second half of the season, with Ruberti and Malucelli setting the best time, ahead of the nr 97 Brixia Porsche of Lucchini and Ragginger, with the nr 55 CRS Racing Ferrari 430 GT2 of Mullen and Niarchos third.
