The appeal lodged by Prospeed Competition against the exclusion of their nr 61 car from Oschersleben was rejected by the International Court of Appeal. This means that the Oschersleben results are now final.
Further to a written statement from Porsche that all the cars at the Spa Event used engines with steel sleeves in the engine, which did not conform with the homologation papers, all the Porsche cars entered in the GT2 category of the Total 24 Hours of Spa, which were provisional further to technical checks, have been excluded from the results.
This promotes the nr 56 CRS Racing Ferrari of Kirkaldy, Bell, Garcia and Kox to second and the team’s nr 55 car of Mullen, Niarchos, Quaife and Goodwin to third, with the JMB Racing Ferrari of Kutemann, Baso, Hartshorne and Daoudi the final classified car in fourth. The Porsche teams present on site this weekend – Prospeed, Brixia and Trackspeed have not appealed. IMSA Matmut Performance was not present. As a consequence, the GT2 points have changed, giving Vilander and Bruni a one-point lead with two races remaining. The handicap weights remain unchanged.
